Saving Energy and Taxpayer Dollars

Much of the current debate about the Federal deficit focuses on cutting, spending, taxing, and other overly politicized terms.  Lost is the significant impact smart energy policies can play in creating real savings, which is why we were pleased to see a new energy efficienct technology bill introduced last night by Senators Mark Udall and James Risch.

The Energy Efficient Government Technology Act (EEGTA), S. 1261, will bring innovation and efficiencies to the federal government that are already being achieved in the private sector – such as improved data center efficiency strategies, energy management plans, and IT asset utilization levels.  To put it another way, S. 1261 essentially would leverage information and communications technology and industry best-practices to make the government more efficient and productive.  As my colleague Chris Hankin wrote when the House companion to this legislation was introduced “[i]t is about enabling the federal government to provide better government, at a lower cost.”

A new study from the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), also released yesterday, notes that innovative technologies can help federal agencies meet their sustainability goals. The report brings together compelling statistics that further support the significant impacts smart IT policies will provide, including:

  • Estimated data center and server consolidation savings of $150-200 billion over 10 years;
  • Utilization of cloud computing could reduce federal IT spending by nearly $20 billion per fiscal year; and,
  • Use of cloud-based email would save $1 million each year for every 7,500 users.

The bipartisan leadership and collaboration from Senators Udall and Risch is a step toward realizing these untapped efficiencies and savings, and ITI plans to work with these members and their House counterparts  (Reps. Anna Eshoo and Mike Rogers) to see enactment of this legislation.

    even though a wolf is not a dog a dog is cealld mans best friend for a reason, I had a wolf sheppard mix puppy my father purched when I was a little pup myself for five dollars becouse he was thought to die. My father and I nursed rusty with a baby bottle and he pulled through. after he rusty was about 8weeks the people who sold him to us wanted 200 dollars, My dad told them that they thought rusty would die in fact he was almost dead when we got him and a deal is a deal. well I had rusty for 14 years and being a only child and my mother dying when I was 10 rusty was like my best friend and my little brother. he was the most intellgent and loyal animal I have ever owned or seen for that matter. when I first joined the army my father told me that after about two weeks rusty noticed that I was not coming home and he just quit eating and died. two years later my dad died. while I was in Iraq in 2003 I seperated a wild dog I had been watching for several weeks, He was not the alpha infact a big white female which appeared to have some sheppard in her was the boss of that pack! Pe-te (the wild dog) was some what of a loner always dragging in a lizard or camel parts on his own in to the female. I got a chance to seperate him from the pack, so I took it. after working with him for several weeks I started taking him on missions with me. Pe-te road on the engine grate behind the cab. and even though he was never realy tame I trusted him and he trusted me I hardly ever got to sleep before we started going together. He alerted me several times of danger before I even saw danger I never realy touched him much but pe-te would sometimes lay his head on my feet. then in late 2003 I was on my knees in the passenger seat with my weapon out the window and the person driving drove into about a five foot hole going about 65km I damaged my brain and shattered my spine as well a damaging my spinal cord. I had two get medivac out and a week later the military animal control corraled pe-te and put him down. I feel as if it was my fault if I had not asked him to help me be safe he might not have ever been caught and put down. So I feel as if I because of the army owe something to rusty and to Pe-te, No pe-te was not a wolf but even though wild he was a friend. my wife last year took our children and left me I to this day do not know why, I guess because she does not want someone who is in a wheelchair or has to use prostecis and crutches. I at the present only get to see my children 40 to 45 min a day and 36 hrs every other weekend. I need a friend some one I can trust, and someone or some thing which needs me. Rusty and pe-te had more morals and kindness and loyalty than my wife is even remotely capeable of. 828-217-3422. I live in the foot hills of the blueridge mtns at aprox 1975 feet. on a small ridge in the woods.

    Road_tama Октябрь 29, 2012 3:15 м. Мой любимый персонаж вне Sterek? Ммм ... is hard to choose... I LOVE EVERYONE!! >. he has a lot of sadenss and guilty inside (he blames for his mother's dead for some reason) but he tries to hide it because he don't want to be a lack to the pack. YAY! AND I LOVE HIS JEEP! Хорошо, I love Peter!! He's simply hirarious in some kind of creeper mode... He's the villain you don't want to like but you can't help to love him. I think he's sexy (evil is sexy) and very intelligent, you never know what to expect from him --> he has a quick return to Derek's pack, so suspicious... Дерек. That man carries a lot of pain inside of him, blaming himself for something it was not his fault. When he becomes and Alpha, he picked teens with problems and he say it is because they need them to say "yes", but under this coldness mask he wears, there is a good heart and somehow, he identificated himself with Erica, Isaac and Boyd. He tries to do the right thing, but he is inexperience and much times he doesn't know what to do. Да, he's a creeper stalker, but it's part of his charm.Coach Finstock. THIS GUY IS SIMPLY HILARIOUS!! He's crazy and he has protagonized some of the most FUNNY moments on the show. And his hate to the misterious Greenberg. Давай! Who doesn't love him?Sheriff Stilinski. I love his overprotectiveness to his only child and I admire his strenght to raise by himself Stiles, trying to hold on and not fall into the pain of losing his beloved wife. He loves his child over all the things and Stiles and him have protagonized some of the most hilarious moments of Teen Wolf. The scene out of the Gay Club totally killed me ^o^Danny. He's a lovely boy and a great friend to Jackson even when he's a completely douchebag. SO SWEET! I hope in season 3 appears more.Chris Argent. I love how he tries to protect his family but trying not to kill indiscriminately, following the Code over all the things. He's short of a creeper, but who in this show isn't? The death of his wife (She scared the shit out of me... she was like Cruella de Vill...) but he overpowered the pain and go on for his family. He's one of the stronguest people on the show.Lydia, Allison and Erica. COME ON! THEY ARE BADASS!! Lydia, the intelligent girl who hides under her beauty and is capable of sacrifice herself among her love (Jackson). Allison, developing to become a great hunter and deals with her darkest side because of her mother's death. And Erica, the only werewolf girl, who becomes from a sad and shy girl to a strong and confidence girl. They can kick your ass without much effort!Scott... Isaac... Boyd... Jackson... Melissa McCall... Matt (хорошо, he was a psycho, but he has his charm... and he was a Sterek-shipper)... There is a lot of amazing characters in this show and I wouldn't have enough space to write (or words to express, english is not my mother language) what I like about ALL of them. And yes, I love Sterek, but I'm not seeing the show only for this pairing (this would be totally dumb).

    the wolf trying to imtaite the voice of the grandmother. Grandma, grandma, which have larger ears! It is better to hear you-continued saying the wolf. Grandma, Grandma, what big teeth you have! Son mejoooor eat! And saying that, the wolf is evil abalanzf3 on a moniker and devoured, as he had done with Grandma. Meanwhile, the hunter had become concerned and believe guess the bad intentions of the wolf, decided to take a look to see if everything was going well in the Grandma's house. He asked for help from a mower and the two together arrived at the scene. They saw the door of the house open and the wolf lying in bed, asleep for so tired he was. The hunter took out his knife and rajf3 the belly of the wolf. The Grandma and Little were there, alive!. To punish the bad wolf, the hunter he filled the belly of stones and then returned to close. When the wolf awoke from his heavy sleep, felt extremely thirsty and went to a pond next to drink. As the stones weighed much, fell into the pond head and drowned. As for Little and his grandmother, did not suffer more than a big scare, but Little Red had learned its lesson. He promised not to talk to his Grandma with any stranger who was on the way. From now on, follow the recommendations of its judicious Grandma and her Mom. END
