President’s Review Group Issues Report on Surveillance

Yesterday, the President’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies issued their report aptly titled “Liberty and Security in a Changing World.

The report includes 46 Recommendations to the President. Back in October, ITI, along with SIIA, submitted a series of recommendations to the Review Group calling for greater transparency, improved oversight, and additional measures that could restore the public’s trust in their government and the technologies they use.

ITI commends the Review Group for including in its recommendations greater transparency and oversight in connection with the country’s intelligence-gathering programs. We continue to examine the full Report and we look forward to continued engagement with the Administration and Congress on these important issues.
